What has happened to my party?

As many of you may have noticed, I really like politics but don't like to specifically call out the candidates. However, I am so disappointed in the Republicans right now that I will probably end up sitting out this election. I consider myself a Reagan/Limbaugh conservative. In my opinion, that means to be optimistic about the future, have a strong military, and give everyone an opportunity to better themselves. I just don't see that happening with Sen. John McCain in charge.

I am reading remarks by Sen. Lindsay Graham, Gov. Arnold Schwartzenegger, Gov. Mike Huckabee and Sen. McCain himself talking about how the Republicans need to sell themselves as a kindler, gentler center of the road party. They want to talk about global warming, immigration, and government spending. Why? Because they want to be inclusive.

You know what? So do I. However, I do not want to move to the center. Global warming is nothing more than alchemy of the 21st century. Not more than thirty years ago, we were warned about global cooling. So you're telling me that man has completely reversed this trend and have gone too far? If that were possible, I would create a weapon out of it and have it in my arsenal. Worried about a nuclear bomb? We'll just make your country a desert if you give us a reason! Give me a break.

Immigration? I read an article saying that the government is creating deportation camps. I'm sure that Sen. McCain (in this case, Sen. stands for Senor) will find this despicable. I don't know that for sure, just a hunch. In my opinion, what took so long? We are not talking about detention camps like the ones the Japanese were confined to in World War II. We are talking about large capacity jails. Yes jails. The ILLEGAL immigrants are here ILLEGALLY! There are approximately 20 million reasons that this is a good idea.

The next question will be, "What about the children of the ILLEGAL immigrants that are born here?"

That question has already been answered. Ask the lady who claimed sanctuary in Chicago. We deport the ILLEGAL immigrants that have been caught and give the family the option of taking the legal citizen back to the origin country with them, or leave them in foster care in the US. Cruel? I don't think so. If you ask the ILLEGAL immigrants why they are here, they will say to have a better life (the jobs are here etc.). If you love your child that much, you will leave him here to have the life you always wanted. If not, then please take him/her home with you.

The one area I have a cautious approval for Sen. McCain is government spending. He has always been vigilant in fighting pork barrel spending. I'm afraid that he'll change once he gets in charge. To get along, he'll roll over and hope they rub his belly.

One last message for Sen. McCain, please quit sending me requests for money. I am a proud card carrying Republican. I just wish you were.
