Angry White Man

I heard this article being discussed by Rush Limbaugh last week. I just received this in an email today. Here is the link:

After reading the article, I guess that describes me, except for the angry part. I am not really angry. I am just not very tolerant of whiners. I don't want to hear "What about me?" "It's not fair."

I am not a metrosexual (just ask my wife). I have coached my son's baseball and soccer teams. I love playing poker and golf. I go to work every day to make sure my family is taken care of. I just live by the Golden Rule, I try to treat people the way I want to be treated.

Don't tell me you deserve special rights because you're gay. I'm not concerned what you do behind closed doors. Don't tell me you deserve special rights because you're not a white male. No matter who you are, if you get your education and work hard, good things will happen to you. If you don't like someone telling you what to do, be your own boss. The only thing holding you back is you.

You can learn something from everyone you meet. I learn things from my 8 year old daughter and the custodial lady at work. I'm not advocating being naive, I just think life would be better if we just weren't so distrustful.

Indiana's Illegal Immigration Problem

Here in Indiana, the House of Representatives are dealing with a bill that would punish companies that KNOWINGLY hire illegal immigrants. The bill requires employees use a federal system to verify citizenship. If the company violates the law three times in a 10 year period, the state would revoke the business' license.

As usual, the illegal immigrant enablers have come out and called the sponsors of the bill anti-immigrant and racists. The problem I have with this is that the verification would be used for EVERY potential employee. Bob Smith could be illegally here from Toronto. Jose Espinosa could have been born in Seattle, Washington. If you are able to produce the documents needed, you have no problem. If you can't, well...

I had to show my information to my employer when I filled out the I-4 form. I don't think it's too much to ask everybody else do the same.

First time blogger

Greetings to everyone who has stopped by to take a look. I'll tell you a little bit about myself. I am a 45 year old guy who is tired of not having someplace to respond to all of the cultural/political stuff going on today. I will try to update this as often as I can. I am looking forward to letting everyone know how I feel and hearing your responses.
